What can you do with an interview-based podcast?

We built ours into a magazine, a book, and a speaking calendar.

Right now, your process lives in your head. It costs a full day. It can't be handed to anyone.

That's a documentation problem, not a talent problem. It's the one thing standing between the show you record and everything it could feed.

Pre-production, production, post-production

The Podcast Production Playbook

Everything we do before, during and after a recording: the briefs, question sheets, checklists and handoffs, written down in the order we do them.

01

Pre-production

Choosing the guest, the brief that goes out before the call, and the question sheet that produces publishable answers instead of pleasant conversation.

02

Production

How the recording itself is run: the order of operations on the day, how to keep a nervous guest talking, what to do when the audio drops, and the notes taken live so the edit starts already marked.

03

Post-production

The cut sheet, the edit, the clips, the show notes and the publish checklist. One pass through the transcript marks all of it at once — that is where the leverage is.

What you get
The playbook itself: pre-production, production and post-production, step by step
The working templates: guest brief, question sheet, cut sheet, show notes, publish checklist
One 60-minute working session to fit it to your show

Done with you and handed off to your team.

Two things are for sale today: the Playbook, and a short consulting engagement. Steps three to five — the magazine, the book, the stage — are how we work ourselves, and they show you where a show can go.

Offer 02 · limited scope

Two engagements at a time

Consulting on your guest and content ecosystems

Fixed scope, fixed length, one problem. Either what happens with your guest relationships, or what happens to the episodes you already have.

This is advisory work, not production. You keep the doing; we design the system and sit with you while you run it the first time.

Expert network ecosystem

Are you realizing all of the benefits that come from hosting an interview-based podcast? We'll share what we've gained from ours and where there may be opportunities for you to grow in yours.

Content ecosystem

One conversation, mapped to everything it should produce: clips, show notes, an article, a searchable archive entry. We build the map against your actual back catalogue, not a generic funnel.

How it runs
One audit of what you already have — episodes, appearances, transcripts
A written plan for the one ecosystem you picked, with the order of work
Working sessions across a set number of weeks, then a handoff to your team
Ask about an engagement →

Deliberately capped. Nothing open-ended, no retainers.

Publicly verifiable

Nobody handed us this system.

The last step of the pipeline, on an actual stage. Rooms get booked because there is a book and a body of work behind the name.

The pipeline · five steps

Where a show can go — not a menu of products
01

Record

The interview itself, plus the questions that make a guest say something worth publishing. Most of the value gets decided here, before anyone touches an edit.

02

Cut

Clips built around a point, not chopped at random, and the episode distributed across audio and video. This is the cheapest part of the job, and the part everyone else sells as the whole job.

03

Publish

The conversation becomes referenced insights in Workforce Alchemy Magazine.

04

Compile

An hour and a half long conversation is more than a conversation. It's a book, not a wish. We know because that's how ours got written.

05

Book

The book is what turns a speaker inquiry into a fee. Event organizers say yes to published people.

Today we sell the first two steps: the Playbook, and consulting on your guest and content ecosystems. Steps three to five are future offerings.

Who this is for

Consultants with a method and no body of work behind it
Experts who are starting or have started an interview-based podcast
Podcast hosts that want more from their show, beyond repurposing content

What this is not

Not a podcast editing shop.

Editing is the most commoditized part of this. Plenty of people will do it for you for $200 an episode. What almost nobody does is the part after the audio file: playbooks that you own for your podcast, guest ecosystems that lead to partnerships, and content ecosystems that become magazines, books, and speaking engagements.

We also don't promise reach, impressions, or download counts. Downloads are the metric every podcast agency loses on. Published credentials are a harder promise to make and a much better one to keep.

Who runs it
Mason Duchatschek

Mason Duchatschek

Host of The Workforce Alchemy Show. Author of multiple books.

The pipeline exists because it was needed, not because it was a product idea. Enough people asked how the show, the magazine, the books, and the speaking calendar fit together that the answer became a service.

The reason the issue ships on the same date every month and the reason episodes don't sit unedited. If the show is the conversation, this is the part that turns it into something published: the schedule, the contributors, the handoffs, the checklist nobody sees.
